James C. Roberts III manages the law firm, Global Capital Law Group, and serves as CEO of Global Capital Strategic Group, a strategic consulting firm, advising startups venture capital firms and corporate clients on venture investments, mergers & acquisitions, licensing and other corporate law matters. He splits his time between Los Angeles and Milan (well, other places, too). He tries to bring law into the strategic realm because, too often, management views it as a cost center and an impediment to implementation. He also tries to de-mystify law. On the consulting side, he works with his colleagues to develop strategies that can be implemented and then implement them. Look for his work (in both law and consulting) in digital media and technology (e.g., cross-platform or mobile projects), clean tech and other advanced technology initiatives, especially those that cross borders. He received his JD from the University of Chicago, his MA from Stanford University and his BS from the University of California at Berkeley.
