DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 2009
In the morning, the President and the First Lady will travel to Rome, Italy. The departure from Moscow is open press.
After arriving in Rome, the President will meet with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano at the Quirinale Palace in Rome. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting. President Obama and President Napolitano will then deliver brief statements to the press. The statements are pooled press.
Following the meeting, the President will travel to L’Aquila. He will be greeted at the Guardia di Finanz School, the site of the G-8, by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The President will then attend a working lunch, followed by a G-8 session on global issues. Both will be covered by G-8 pool sprays.
In the evening, the President and Prime Minister Berlusconi will tour L’Aquila’s historic center. There will be travel pool coverage.
At night, the President will attend a G-8 working dinner at the Guardia di Finanz School. This dinner is closed press.
