La Commissione del Partito democratico ha deciso di riconoscere i voti della Florida e del Michigan e di far partecipare le delegazioni dei due stati alla convention di Denver, ma ciascun delegato avrà diritto a mezzo voto, non uno intero. Questo vuol dire che:
a) Obama è matematicamente irragiungibile con i delegati eletti (ma lo era anche prima)
b) il quorum non è più a 2025 delegati, ma a 2118
c) Obama non può dichiarare vittoria già martedì sera
d) Hillary, con la vittoria a Portorico di domenica, passerà avanti nel voto popolare (che però ai fini della nomination non conta niente, se non come argomento per convincere i superdelegati)
e) i clintoniani potrebbero fare appello e far continuare il grande romanzo delle primarie fino alla convention di Denver, specie per il compromesso sul Michigan che le ha tolto 4 delegati e ha assegnato i voti "uncommitted" a Obama.
f) il partito democratico è un casino mai visto
g) McCain ride
Qui il comunicato del manager della campagna Obama:
"We’re extremely gratified that the commission agreed on a fair solution that will allow Michigan and Florida to participate in the Convention.  We appreciate their efforts, and those of the party leadership of both states, to bring this resolution about,” said Obama campaign manager David Plouffe.
Qui quello della campagna Clinton:
Harold Ickes and Tina Flournoy made the following statement this evening:
"Today’s results are a victory for the people of Florida who will have a voice in selecting our Party’s nominee and will see its delegates seated at our party’s convention.  The decision by the Rules and Bylaws Committee honors the votes that were cast by the people of Florida and allocates the delegates accordingly.
We strongly object to the Committee’s decision to undercut its own rules in seating Michigan’s delegates without reflecting the votes of the people of Michigan.
The Committee awarded to Senator Obama not only the delegates won by Uncommitted, but four of the delegates won by Senator Clinton. This decision violates the bedrock principles of our democracy and our Party.
We reserve the right to challenge this decision before the Credentials Committee and appeal for a fair allocation of Michigan’s delegates that actually reflect the votes as they were cast.
